I’m sure it is no accident that National Cake Week comes when Bake Off is moving into Quarter Finals and the whole nation has gone cake crazy. The team at Lancaster House have had a week of intense competition – sieving, creaming, folding in, rising, dusting, dredging and perhaps one or two soggy bottoms along the way.
