Lancaster House has been organising weddings for over twenty-five years and we’ve never lost the thrill of being involved in a couple’s Big Day. The Wedding and Events team have a wealth of experience shaping the celebrations around the unique requirements of each couple. In the run up to Lancaster House Wedding Showcase, we thought you might like to meet the team.
Lauren Cole-Edwards, Senior Wedding & Events Co-ordinator
Lauren started working in Sandeman Bar at Lancaster House in 2014. Within six months she moved into the Sales Department and started a new career organising events and weddings, and loving it. She is now Senior Wedding and Events Co-ordinator.
I enjoy spending my spare time either having weekends away or travelling. I also love dancing which I started at the age of three years old.
Previously Lauren worked on a cruise ship, spending 6 months as a Sales Assistant on board the Queen Victoria, part of the Cunard Fleet. She visited some amazing destinations, her favourite being Barbados!
Claire Bulmer, Events Co-ordinator
Claire has worked for English Lakes Hotels Resorts and Venues since 2007, starting in Group Sales before moving to Lancaster House to join the Wedding and Events team. This was a bit of a return for Claire, as Lancaster University was where she had gained her degree in Business Studies.
Over the last six years, Claire has organised all sorts of different events, conference and weddings at Lancaster House.
When Claire is not working organisational wonders on events, she has two young daughters, aged three and one, who keep her on her toes. In the little spare time that she has, Claire also enjoys running and crocheting. Pre-children, Claire spent some time travelling, teaching children in Africa and running a children’s Summer Camp in Ghana.
The newest Clare to the Wedding and Events team at Lancaster House, starting in May 2016. She is loving her new role, being made really welcome by Lauren and Claire.
Clare Thornhill, Wedding & Events Co-ordinator
Clare started her career in Preston in a Leisure Centre fulfilling different roles – Receptionist, Swimming Teacher and Lifeguard. Although she loved the job, it was time for a change and to see what life had to offer. One of the new highlights for Clare is meeting the wedding couples and showing then what Lancaster House has to offer for their special day, and who doesn’t love a good wedding!
In my spare time I play hockey for Fylde Ladies Hockey Club and I am Captain for the 2nd team. I also love watching films and having a good catch up with my friends over a glass of prosecco.
