Lancaster House Bar Manager, Tom Chalmers, is passionate about port. As we deck the halls at Lancaster House with festive cheer, Tom has been concocting a warming Christmas port using our premium
Sandeman port which he has kindly agreed to share with us.
A glass of port by the fire in Lancaster House Sandeman’s Bar
Ingredients:
Method:
Combine all ingredients in a medium-sized saucepan and warm gently (be careful not to boil). Serve hot in traditional mulled wine glasses, or your favourite mug.
If you find mulled port too heavy, try this refreshing chilled version.
Ingredients:
Method:
Pare thin strips of zest from the orange and lemon and add them to a medium-sized saucepan with the Port, the juice from your orange, lemon and the remaining ingredients. Warm gently (again being careful not to boil) for around 20 minutes and leave to cool completely. Serve in ice-filled glasses with slices of lemon and orange and top up with lemonade.
Make an evening of it at Lancaster House Sandeman’s Bar. Tom and his team have plenty of other inspiring Port combinations. You will find them behind the bar, happy to chat to you about our range of premium Ports and perhaps introduce you to a few new flavours.
