We had an amazing line up of events at The Midland in 2018, but this year will be even bigger and better! Here’s a bit of a roundup and what you can expect in 2019.
Gin, Vodka and Rum Festival
On World Gin Day, 9th June 2018, we launched our very own gin – Seahorse No.10. Flavoured with ten incredible botanicals, Seahorse No.10 celebrated The Midland’s tenth anniversary since re-opening.
We went on from there to host our Gin and Rum Festival in November. As well as being a sell-out success, we were delighted to have raised money to support our local North West Cancer Research charity.
Such is the popularity of these spirited events, we’ve added Vodka to the mix, and in June 2019 we will be hosting our very first GVR (Gin Vodka Rum) Festival. Look out for some tipsy seahorses.
Seafood Festival
The Midland Seafood Festival is firmly established on calendars up and down the country. It’s grown from a one day local event, to the full weekend with lots of fun activities. This will be our fourth Seafood Festival and we have a whole host of suppliers lining up to take part, including some excellent Craft Beer and Ales for the first time.
If you enjoyed Michael and Mark’s (Chef and General Manager) shrimp expedition – look out in the next few weeks. They will be on the hunt for the elusive Morecambe Bay Shrimps once again, and perhaps going further afield to search out the freshest and best langoustines.
All Things Vintage
31st August to 1st September 2019 will see the return of the award-winning Vintage by the Sea Festival, with The Midland right at the heart of all the goings on. In its sixth year, this is a real celebration of 20th century design, fashion, music, entertainment and vehicles.
Building on the popularity of the vintage scene, The Midland will be hosting our very first 30s weekend. It will be a weekend of glamour, cocktails, big band music, dance lessons, Poirot, dinner overlooking Morecambe Bay and much more.
Murder Most Foul
Murder Mystery at The Midland is an ever popular subject, and has a growing following. As soon as these events are published, tickets just fly off the shelf. We hosted five such evenings in 2018, and there will be six Murder Mysteries this year. New for 2019, we also have two Funcast dinner shows.
To co-incide with ten years of Murder at The Midland, we will be hosting a Great Gatsby event in April. As ever, we will be posing the question ‘Who Dunnit?’ Calling all super sleuths to solve Body in the Black Pearl, murders at Faulty Towers, Casino Royale, 34th Street, and a murder surrounded by the cast of Are You Being Served! And to co-incide with ten years of Murder at The Midland, we will be hosting a Great Gatsby event in April. As ever, we will be posing the question ‘Who Dunnit?’
Wedding Bliss
The Midland will always be a stunning venue for a wedding. Something a little different for our wedding couples– our Moonlight Wedding Showcase. This is an evening event, cocktails and canopies, some new and exciting wedding suppliers and the opportunity to imagine how your wedding could look at The Midland.
