With years of experience in the fitness industry, Susie is also a Mum, mountaineer, fell runner and outdoor adventure lover. She uses her knowledge and experience to encourage others in the local community to get fit and keep active. Susie is always up for a challenge and has completed the Brathay Windermere Marathon, the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge and the Borrowdale 10, managing to set impressive record times. She is also an inspirational charity fundraiser for the Lake District Search and Mountain Rescue Association.
Hiking in the fells since she was four years old, Susie is now passing down the love of the outdoors to her own children. In her spare time (you wouldn’t believe she has time for spare time!) Susie also loves kayaking, caving and wild camping.
One of the longest serving members of the fitness team, Matt loves finding fresh new ideas for his personal training. He is also studying Sports Science at university which brings a new dynamic to his fitness sessions at The Health Club at Low Wood Bay.
Involved in sport from a young age, Matt has played football, hockey and gold at various levels throughout his career. Whatever his client’s goal, from sport specific to weight loss, Matt will guide and motivate you through your fitness journey.
Before moving to the Lake District, Andy ran a very successful Boot Camp business, so he knows all about what it takes to encourage people to reach their fitness goals.
He has personally completed at county level in rugby union and league, as well as several Crossfit competitions. His sport of choice these days is cycling, whether that’s outdoor on the steep Lake District hills, training for the Fred Whitton Challenge, or a heart pumping high energy Spin class.
Andy’s passion in life is to encourage people to love their training and get the results they hope for. “I learned early on in my career that exercise is as important for the mind as it is for the body. Observing the transformation that it can make in a person’s life is what motivates me every day”.
Having spent over ten years in the fitness industry, Jake is a very experienced members of the Low Wood Bay Health Club team. She is also a qualified instructor of Pilates and Float Fit and teaches a wide range of classes at the Club.
Since the age of 7 Jade has competed at a high level in track and field events, and has won over 75 county championship medals along the way. In her spare time, Jade loves skiing in Europe as well as venturing out into the Lake District where she is currently bagging the Wainwrights.
With a fun and energetic approach, Jade loves helping clients achieve their goals in the most effective way.
A former four time World Kickboxing Champion, Kalum is no stranger to competition training, and is used to a variety of different fitness programmes. He recently introduced his Kickboxing and Boxing personal training to the Health Club at Low Wood Bay, a fantastic way to see all round results. Kalum has worked with a wide variety of clients with different abilities and he is able to tailor make each session to meet their particular goals.
Previously an outdoor instructor and sailing instructor, Kalum’s skills include a range of water sports. When the weather turns warmer, Kalum can be found on the lake, leading our paddle boarding classes, and is also a qualified Float Fit instructor.
With an Olympic athlete and Team GB Coach as a parent, it is no surprise that Nathan decided to pursue a career in fitness. His own sports of choice growing up were Judo and Rugby. Nathan has consistently added to his knowledge of personal training, weight and strength training techniques, sports massage and is hoping to add physiotherapy to his portfolio.
Nathan’s own training regime includes cycling, running, CrossFit, and all kinds of strength and conditioning work. He loves pushing himself and is always willing to step up to the plate. He is currently coaching a whole range of clients, from the complete novice to experienced athletes.
Mel radiates positive energy and her enthusiasm for health and fitness is contagious. Her career has been exclusively in the Lake District and in terms of fitness instruction, she has a huge range of strings to her bow from Zumba, Aqua Aerobics, and Boxercise to Cycling Instructor. As well as this, Mel is a qualified Level 3 Personal Trainer.
Mel loves the high intensity approach to training, but has lots of experience adapting and modifying different exercises to meet the needs of her clients. Outside of work, Mel’s training is based around Crossfit and she has completed in international team and individual competitions.
