On Twitter we follow the adventures of @CumbrianBlondie (A.K.A Gina) who was attempting to complete her list of 40 new things at the age of 40. We are planning a special summer garden party for 60 community champions in Cumbria and North Lancashire, and would like our local community to get involved.
Broadcaster Eric Robson will host the event at Low Wood Bay on the shores of Windermere to celebrate our 60th anniversary.
Anyone can nominate someone they feel deserves special recognition for the work they do in the local community.
The community champions could be carers, volunteers in local hospitals, those who give up their time to run local youth groups or people who help protect the environment. They may be people who raise vital funds for local charities or who help organise key community events. (more…)
We are marking our 60th anniversary by launching a search to find Cumbria and North Lancashire’s community heroes. We want people from across the region to nominate anyone they feel deserves special recognition for the work they do in the local community.
2012 is a landmark year for us and we want to celebrate our big day with some of the unsung heroes who help to make this region so special. They are the people who make Cumbria and North Lancashire a better place to live, work and visit. (more…)
