On Sunday 14th July Low Wood Bay hosted an afternoon tea with the award winning Amabile Girls Choir. Over 100 guests attended the event and enjoyed an inspirational three hours of song. The event was a great success and raised over £480 to Amabile’s chosen charity, Barnardos, North West which helps more than 21,000 children, young people and their families.
The Midland hotel is searching for stars of the Miss Great Britain competition held in Morecambe in 1968.The Miss Great Britain Competition was held in Morecambe from 1956 to 1989, with the 1968 event being won by Yvonne Ormes from Nantwich in Cheshire. At Waterhead we are always looking for new ideas to improve what we do by using innovative and creative methods. After doing some research we wanted to find a way of producing the freshest coffee for our customers.
Mark Needham and the team traveled to Limini Coffee in Bradford to learn how to use a new Roastilino coffee roaster which we have just installed so everyday we can expertly roast the finest selected Arabica coffee beans for our guests.
For our new coffee roaster, we source beans from some of the best coffee growers around the world from Brazil, Kenya, Guatemala, Ethiopia and many others. These are purchased as Green beans, which is basically raw coffee beans.
We expertly roast everyday which gives us the freshest artisan brewed coffee in the Lake District. Soon our customers will be able to enjoy there favourite coffee in the Bar and Grill whilst taking in the breathtaking views over Windermere.
As a family company we really enjoy being in business. It also gives us a long term view to invest in the future and build a sustainable business. Unfortunately Shirley the Sheep is not an investment we are making; it was a light heartedApril Fools joke and I hope we got ewe!
