Family Fun

Working in the family business is great. I genuinely feel that the culture built up around it being a family permeate and create the best experience for our guests and visitors. Being a family business gives the company a long term commitment to our area and a long term view to the investment we make in the landscape and people. But working in a family business also means we are given a little more room for creativity and out of the box thinking which is where out annual April Fools prank comes in.

Snappy the crocodile being mentioned on Radio 1 was a highlight, I wish Energy Four Ewe was real and I’m sure if given enough thought a device that you plug your bicycle into really could be used to cross the lake. If you have fallen for our April Fools before I hope you don’t take it to heart and I hope you enjoyed yesterday’s attempt. Although these were only jokes, English Lakes Hotel’s willingness to think big translates into the bold business decisions that keep us at the forefront of our industry.

If you would like to take part in an event that sounds like it should be an April Fools joke, but isn’t, check out our Low Wood No Wood Cardboard Boat race which will be taking part on Saturday 17th May 2014.

Until next year,

Ben Berry
