Following hot on the heels of his 1930s Afternoon Tea Dance with dance tuition at the Vintage-by-the-Sea event, Anthony Padgett will be returning to The Midland as part of The Midland Wedding Fayre on 27th October 2013. Anthony will be playing some classic vintage tunes on his wind up gramophone and would love to chat through specific wedding dance possibilities!
Anthony who has been dancing for 18 years, and his dance partner Stephanie Sturgess along with 20 of their dancers featured in the BBC One series “Turn Back Time”. The program follows 3 families who lived the lives of working, middle and upper class families from 5 different periods in the 20th century. It was Anthony and Stephanie’s job to show the upper class family how to really kick up their heels, 1920’s style for their night out at The Midland Hotel. Take a look at the below YouTube clip.
Anthony and Stephanie specialise in dances from the golden era of The Midland – Charleston, Foxtrot, Swing, Cha cha, vintage Salsa and social dances like Lambeth Walk and Palais Glide. They run regular classes around the region as well as individual tuition sessions for that all-important ‘first dance’.
